Sports Injuries

Assessment and rehabilitation for injuries sustained during sport or exercise, with a clear path back to activity.

Sports injuries can affect muscles, joints, ligaments or tendons, and range from an acute incident to a gradually developing overuse problem. Whatever your sport or activity level, getting the right assessment early can make a real difference to recovery time.

How home physiotherapy can help

Your HSR physiotherapist will assess the injured area, your movement, strength and the specific demands of your sport, then build a rehabilitation plan aimed at a safe, staged return to activity. This typically progresses from managing pain and swelling, through restoring movement and strength, to sport-specific conditioning.

Home visits work well for consistent, regular rehabilitation sessions, particularly where travel to a clinic would eat into training or recovery time.

What a session may include

  • Assessment of the injury and its impact on your sport or activity
  • Hands-on treatment where appropriate
  • A staged, sport-specific rehabilitation programme
  • Guidance on safe return-to-play timelines and injury prevention

Specific common sports injuries are also covered on our tennis elbow, ankle sprains & strains and shoulder pain pages.
